Modern kitchen with warm wood and terracotta shades – a project with a soul that combines style and functionality

Designing a custom kitchen is more than just choosing cabinet colours or worktop materials – it’s about creating a space that becomes the heart of your home. The kitchen in the photo is a project completed by Strefa Projektowania – an example of a modern interior that combines warm wood, deep black stone, fashionable terracotta shades and functionality tailored to the household’s needs.

This design is dedicated to those who value elegance, comfort and an individual approach to their space. Let’s take a closer look.

Warmth and modernity – the perfect duo

In recent years, minimalistic kitchens with white and grey have dominated interiors. This time, we went for something entirely different – a warm and cosy space that still aligns with current trends.

What stands out in this arrangement?

  • Natural wood – cabinet fronts with visible grain in a warm tone bring the feel of a homely atmosphere while maintaining an elegant look.
  • Terracotta colour – matt, vibrant fronts in a rusty-orange shade provide a bold accent, a perfect contrast to the wood and black.
  • Black marble on the backsplash and worktop – the veining adds a touch of class and luxury, while the black colour pairs beautifully with modern appliances.

This combination delivers both cosiness and sophistication – friendly materials on one hand, timeless design on the other.

Functionality first – ergonomically designed kitchen

An L-shaped kitchen layout is ideal for medium-sized spaces. It allows optimal use of space and an efficient division into work zones.

What makes this layout special?

  • Cooking and baking zone with modern built-in appliances – coffee machine, oven – all positioned at a comfortable height.
  • Washing and dish storage area – featuring a glazed cabinet that adds lightness and allows elegant display of tableware.
  • Plenty of storage space – deep drawers, tall units, corner cabinets, and full-height cabinetry.

All this ensures the kitchen not only looks good but works perfectly – every day.

High-quality materials – because details make the difference

When designing a custom kitchen, I always choose durable and aesthetically pleasing materials that will please the eye for years.

This project includes:

  • Sintered quartz worktop – resistant to high temperatures, scratches and stains.
  • Custom-made furniture with walnut veneer fronts and matt MDF fronts – beautiful, durable, and easy to maintain.
  • Display cabinet with transparent glass and a black frame – a detail that brings elegance and lightness to the kitchen.

Black accessories – handles, light fittings, tap – visually tie the interior together and add a modern touch.

Round table – a meeting place that brings people together

Instead of a kitchen island – a round wooden table at the centre. This choice:

  • Encourages togetherness,
  • Fits small spaces perfectly,
  • Adds warmth and a soft character to the interior.

The table is a symbol of community – a place for family gatherings, conversations, breakfasts and afternoon coffees.

Decorations that define the style

A well-designed interior is not just about furniture – it’s also about intentional accessories. In this project, we chose:

  • Olive and amber glass vases,
  • A decorative tray with small bottles,
  • Natural pampas grass that enhances the rustic character.

This makes the kitchen feel finished yet not cluttered – each element has its place and purpose.
